Induced Energy
Founded by the late Colin Sanders and inherited by Dr Rosie Sanders in 1998, Induced Energy has been building the best induction hobs in the world since 1991.
The company specialise in the design, manufacture and support of induction catering equipment for the professional catering sector, from prime cooking to hot holding induction systems.
Based in Brackley, Northamptonshire, products are designed and manufactured in house by Induced Energy’s engineers.
Products are used in professional kitchens worldwide including schools, universities, hotels and hospitals as well as some of the most prestigious restaurants. As the website proudly states, “Made in Britain and used all over the world.”
The obvious benefits: energy efficiency, safety and the possibility of precision cooking, not to mention a cooler and more pleasant working environment, sell the technology and Induced Energy’s reputation sells their products.
Mid Fab Developments has been Induced Energy’s sheet metal fabricator since the early years of the company; a relationship that has built up over 15 years.
Mid-Fab were approached to supply the sheet metalwork for the new CS3000 induction hob range. Of particular importance to Induced Energy was the accuracy in fitting the sliding hob lids on the CS3000 range. Mid-Fab Developments were asked if they could help. The quality of the Mid-Fab response was such that they now produce the metalwork for most products, supplying the sheet metal fabrication for the chassis which includes CNC punching, CNC bending, MIG and TIG welding, fastener insertion and finishing.
As Dr Rosie Sanders, owner of Induced Energy explains, “Lids need to fit exactly as they need to slide forward in order for them to be serviced. However this must be performed with a bit of resistance so this is possible but does not happen unintentionally.”
Induced Energy has a global reputation as a supplier of premium induction equipment and as a result they were approached by an Italian company to supply bespoke products for use in a cookery school on a cruise ship.
As Rosie explains, “The customer provided a drawing with a different control panel and we were asked to provide a product.”
“Mid Fab created a new design from the drawing according to the customer requirements. The customer was very happy with the final product and since then we have had an ongoing relationship, with them placing further orders.”
“We are pleased with our relationship with Mid Fab Developments. As people they are obliging and easy to talk to and as a company they work hard to do a good job for us, especially when we want to go the extra mile for a customer, for example when creating a bespoke product. They are willing to put in extra work to achieve results for us.”
As Nigel, Mid-Fab Developments Managing Director says “We are delighted to be working with Induced Energy. I believe our ability to deliver a quality product that meets Induced Energy’s exacting requirements was key to winning and retaining this business”.
